The optimal time to conduct an annual service maintenance is during the spring to fall months.

Yes. Annual maintenance includes a thorough cleaning of the inside of the unit, as well as an inspection and cleaning of the main burner assembly. Regular maintenance helps to prevent premature unit failure.

–How often should I “flush” my hot water heater?

Within the Bow Valley, the recommendation is to flush the unit at least twice a year. Flushing the water helps to reduce sediment build up. With regular maintenance, the average life span of a hot water heater should last between 8 to 10 years.
